The 2026 USTA League National Championships are scheduled to begin October 9 and continue through November 8. The official calendar places the 15 championship events across Orlando, Florida; Mobile, Alabama; and Surprise, Arizona, with divisions assigned to specific weekends and locations.

For a team that has qualified, the useful planning task is not simply choosing a city. It is matching the exact division, rating and age group to the official weekend before booking travel, arranging time away or inviting supporters. A National Championship can make a compelling reason to gather friends and family, but the details should come from the event notice and the team’s captain rather than an assumption based on the host city alone.

Start with the division, then the destination

The opening weekend, October 9–11, includes Adult 18 & Over 2.5 Women/5.0 and Adult 18 & Over 4.5 in Mobile; Adult 18 & Over 3.5 in Surprise; and Adult 18 & Over 3.0 in Orlando. The following weekend, October 16–18, lists Adult 40 & Over 4.0 in Surprise and Adult 40 & Over 4.5 in Orlando.

From October 23–25, the schedule lists Adult 40 & Over 3.0 and 3.5 in Mobile, plus Adult 18 & Over 4.0 in Surprise. October 30–November 1 then shifts to Adult 55 & Over 7.0/9.0 in Orlando, Mixed 18 & Over 7.0/9.0 in Mobile and Mixed 40 & Over 6.0/8.0 in Surprise. The final weekend, November 6–8, includes Adult 55 & Over 6.0/8.0 in Mobile, Mixed 18 & Over 6.0/8.0/10.0 in Surprise and Mixed 40 & Over 7.0/9.0 in Orlando.

Those dates are an itinerary framework, not a confirmation of a team’s match times, registration or lodging. The USTA says player handbook and registration links are distributed after a team is entered in Match Tennis Team App. Captains should use that process and the event materials for the details that affect a particular roster.

Build a trip around the competition window

If you are traveling with a player, keep the championship schedule separate from the rest of the weekend. Arrival time, team commitments, transport between lodging and the venue, meals and any companion plans all need their own confirmation. A city may offer a full long-weekend itinerary, but a player’s first responsibility is the event schedule.

For hosts traveling with colleagues or relatives, make the invitation clear: are people attending matches, joining only for a dinner, or using the trip as a broader getaway? That distinction makes it easier for guests to say yes to the parts they can genuinely enjoy. CourtCore’s guide to hosting a client tennis gathering offers a useful principle for any sport-centered group plan: state the purpose and participation choices before the day arrives.

Players adding leisure time to an Orlando trip can also use the same discipline they would use when planning a racquet resort stay: identify what is confirmed first, then build the flexible parts around it. Our Orlando family tennis planning guide explains why a sports reservation, supervision and the wider itinerary should be treated as separate arrangements.

Let the captain’s materials lead

The USTA describes the published schedule as tentative and subject to change. That is a reason to treat the calendar as the starting point, then check the current team communication before committing to flights, rooms or guest plans. Ask the captain which dates require the team’s presence, whether the player handbook has arrived and which venue instructions apply to the group.

The same caution applies to any optional travel component. CourtCore has not inspected these events, host venues or lodging options, and this article does not represent a USTA partnership or endorsement. Confirm current event requirements, access, tickets, transportation and accommodation terms directly with the relevant organizer or provider.

For adult league players, October and early November offer a concentrated national calendar. The most polished trip is usually the one that starts with the exact competitive commitment and leaves room for the people traveling around it.
